Terradot joins the Negative Emissions Platform

The Negative Emissions Platform (NEP) welcomes Terradot, an Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) carbon removal company founded in 2022 by Stanford scientists and entrepreneurs, with commercial deployments across Brazil and the United States.

A Science-Led Approach to Carbon Removal

Founded in 2022 by Stanford scientists and entrepreneurs, Terradot is an Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) carbon removal company with commercial deployments across Brazil and the United States. Its scientific program is led by co-founder Professor Scott Fendorf of the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability and focuses on rigorous measurement, reporting and verification (MRV), quantification of carbon removal, and deployment optimization.

From Crushed Rock to Durable Carbon Removal

Terradot uses ERW to accelerate the natural weathering of crushed rock on agricultural land, permanently removing CO₂ while delivering potential agronomic benefits. The company has signed committed offtake agreements with leading corporate buyers including Google, Frontier, Microsoft and JPMorgan. Following its 2026 acquisition of Eion, Terradot has issued carbon removal credits under Isometric’s Enhanced Weathering in Agriculture protocol and Puro.earth’s methodologies, and it is scaling toward 1 million tonnes of CO₂ removal annually by 2035.

What Terradot Brings to NEP

As part of NEP, Terradot brings the perspective of a company pairing leading earth science research with operational experience of deploying enhanced rock weathering at commercial scale, along with its work advancing the science and frameworks needed to support the responsible scale-up of durable carbon removal.

A Word from Terradot

“Sound carbon removal policy starts with sound science. At Terradot, we pair leading earth science research with operational experience of deploying enhanced rock weathering in agricultural systems at commercial scale. We’re joining the Negative Emissions Platform to bring that perspective especially to Europe and help advance policies that will enable durable carbon removal to scale with integrity.” - James Kanoff, CEO & Co-Founder

NEP looks forward to working with Terradot to advance the policies needed for durable carbon removal to scale with integrity across Europe.
