2025 was a step-change year for NEP — we strengthened our policy engagement in Brussels, brought carbon removals into the European Parliament, and helped deliver the first dedicated CDR pavilion at COP30.
— Chris Sherwood, NEP Secretary General

The report shows how NEP translated sector expertise into policy outcomes and credibility: 41 meetings with policymakers, 20 public consultation responses, and six position papers and reports while welcoming 18 new members across the value chain, from technology providers and project developers to MRV, market infrastructure, buyers, and CO₂ transport and storage.

NEP also doubled down on convening that creates tangible value for members. Advocacy Days brought 27 member representatives from 21 companies into direct dialogue with EU decision-makers on the files shaping scale-up, while Invest in Carbon Removals connected members with capital through 10 events and 290 participants in major financial centres. 2025 NEP Annual Report 2025 NEP Annual Report

Internationally, NEP served as Committee Lead for the CDR30 Pavilion at COP30, built with a coalition of 140+ organisations and delivered across 12 days of programming — creating a shared address for the carbon removals community at the heart of the negotiations. 2025 NEP Annual Report 2025 NEP Annual Report
