Carbon Removal - Capital Flow Chapter

The Carbon Removal industry it’s underway to its next chapter, and with it comes a massive capital flow.

As agreed by scientists, policymakers and practitioners, the Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) industry is ambitiously working towards scaling to gigaton levels in order to have climate significant impact.

On the way to commercialization, funding is arguably the most important leaver. Over the past years, the CDR market has gained strong momentum, backed by frontrunning purchasers, informed early-stage investors, governments, and philanthropy.

Introducing the next Financing Chapter

To transition from first plants to full-scale commercialization is a monumental challenge, which requires a concentrated effort from various stakeholders. The Negative Emission Platform facilitates and supports this collaboration and with the introduction of the Capital Flow Chapter, focuses on one of the most critical stakeholders, financial investors!

For the next phase of CDR, Institutional investors and banks are relevant to provide affordable growth capital and project financing. The Capital Flow Chapter creates a platform for discussion and knowledge exchange, giving the world’s largest financial institutions a room to engage with CDR. The initiative aims to develop roadmaps, best practices, and guidelines for the CDR market.

The Capital Flow Chapter is spearheaded by CarbonX, Carbon Removal Partners, Carbonfuture and Climeworks under the umbrella of the Negative Emissions Platform.

Announcing the CDR Capital Flow Chapter

We are excited to introduce the CDR Capital Flow Chapter, a dedicated platform aimed at dismantling the financing barriers hindering the flourishing of Carbon Dioxide Removal technologies.

The success of the CDR Capital Flow Chapter hinges on the synergy between Buyers and Investors. Through a series of meticulously curated meetings, we aim to foster a collaborative environment where government agencies, foundations, venture capitalists, business angels, private equity firms, impact funds, public agencies, and commercial banks can join forces.
